Workshops Discovering the Leader Discovering The Leader In YouOrganizations are challenged today with finding ways to develop the leadership skills of their people. We want people who can motivate others to outstanding performance. We want people who think strategically about the business and make the right decisions. We want people who know how to get respect and influence others. We want people who have vision and can communicate that vision to others. We want people to be leaders regardless of their day-to-day role in the company. But where do we start?
Discovering the Leader In You is a great beginning. In this workshop, participants learn what it means to be a leader, assess their own leadership potential and practices, and begin to develop skills to enhance their leadership abilities on the job. In the workshop, participants analyze their own beliefs about leading and how they perceive their own leadership position. They go through a series of thought provoking activities to establish a vision for themselves as leaders. They complete exercises and simulations that get them out of their comfort zone and into their "learning" zone, practicing skills needed as leaders. They receive a copy of the book, The Leadership Challenge Workbook , by Kouzes and Posner. And they create a Leadership Development Plan to guide their application of the training to their lives. After this knowledge-rich and experience-rich workshop, participants not only know what skills are required to be a true leader -- they are also ready to begin becoming the leader they want to be.
